Newburyport Art announces
October Exhibitions
October 10 - 31, 2026
Newburyport, MA - Newburyport Art (NAA): announces the October exhibitions at 65 Water, including the Fall Juried Show, the Abstract Artists Group of New England (AAGNE) Featured Interest Group Exhibition, and the Fall Gift Shop. There is a free opening reception and awards presentation on Saturday, October 10 (4-6 PM)!
The Fall Juried Show from October 10th - 31st is an annual artist members’ exhibition that brings artists from around the region. Over 100 art pieces were selected from nearly 200 entries and are on display on both floors of the gallery. Accepted media include watercolor, oils and acrylic, gouache, sculpture, printmaking, photography, pastel, mixed media and more. This year’s theme is ‘Making Moves,' which invites artists to explore the forces behind their creative practice.
Juror Sarah LoVasco has a degree in Studio Art from the University of Vermont and over twelve years’ experience in the retail hardware business. Working with nationally renowned museums, galleries, and corporate collections keeps Sarah up-to-date on industry best practices and allows her a pipeline of resources for artwork and emerging artists.
The NAA provides a gathering place for artists interested in meeting with other artists working in particular mediums, by providing Featured Interest Groups (FIGs). AAGNE (Abstract Artists of New England) was founded with a dual mission: to support, encourage, and promote abstract and non-traditional artists; and to educate the public about their work. The artists of AAGNE work in a variety of media, approaches, and styles. They are brought together by a common interest: a fascination and passion for the abstract elements in all art, for Abstract art, and art of abstraction. Almost two dozen artists have their artwork shown in the first-floor Hills gallery.
Gallery Hours: Wednesday through Sunday from 11am-5pm. The gallery is handicap accessible. More information, as well as an online gallery, is available at newburyportart.org. Founded in 1948, Newburyport Art is dedicated to promoting and exhibiting members’ work and to providing art education and access to the visual arts for the entire community.
