Spa Manager
Position: Spa Manager
Reports To : Owner
Job Summary : Responsible for organizing and overseeing the daily operations of the spa, ensuring positive client interactions throughout the spa and has financial accountability for the operation. In addition, to act as the liaison between the spa technical staff and spa reception, reporting to Owner.
Essential Functions:
  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to the guests.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of all standard operating procedures and policies that pertain to the spa.
  • Insure that all guests receive exceptional service and have a comfortable and pleasant experience.
  • Have knowledge and the ability to perform and train all reception duties
  • Maintain knowledge of technician techniques, services and packages offered by the spa
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all products used to perform the services offered at the spa.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all skin care and cosmetic products in order to answer any guest questions.
  • Attend and coordinate all in-house training programs.
  • Manage housekeeping functions in relation to the spa needs.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
  • Interview and hire all technical and desk staff in accordance to spa staffing needs and in accordance with hiring policies.
  • Train all new spa reception staff according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures and conduct re-training as needed.
  • Motivate staff to increase retail and service sales, and coordinate training as needed.
  • Establish daily, monthly and quarterly goals to meet budget.
  • Participate in the performance evaluations of the spa reception and technical staff.
  • Interface with all technicians to ensure good communication with front desk and guests.
  • Supervise housekeeping functions necessary for operating the spa smoothly
  • Insure that all work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion at all times.
  • Perform assigned closing procedures to include counting cash, preparing bank deposits and locking doors.
  • Prepare technician staff schedules and ensure staffing needs are met at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints in an expeditious and tactful manner following company procedure and documentation.
  • Resolve personnel related problems or difficulties following company procedure and documentation.
  • Track inventory and order supplies and products as necessary.
  • Conduct monthly inventory
  • Verify and report payroll on a timely basis.
  • Monitor all spa revenue goals against actual.

Guest Interaction
All interaction, whether by phone, written communication, or in person, should be friendly and professional. Quick and timely responses to personal or phone inquiries from guests is required.
Your goal is to achieve positive outcomes from all client interactions for yourself and staff.

Facility Cleanliness
Spa cleanliness is a priority to everyone. Minor clean-ups should be completed on the spot, whereas more serious clean-ups should be reported immediately.
Safety is every employee’s responsibility. All employees are expected to report any unsafe conditions of any nature within the spa or on the spa property to management. In the event that a condition exists that is a potential immediate hazard to guests or fellow employees secure the area from use and report the hazard to management immediately.

Education/Training : College Degree Required/Adequate Job training
Experience : Three years prior related experience in customer service and/or management required.
Certification / Licenses : Cosmetology License a plus
