JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:                    Office Manager
Reports To:                President & CEO
FLSA Status:             Full Time – Exempt 
 
 
Summary:  This position is primarily administrative in nature but will also include significant elements of work in public relations, technology, and member services areas. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the strategic planning, organization and execution of all chamber budgets
  • Assist with solicitation of and help to secure sponsorships for all events and programs with staff/committee assistance
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and other accounting functions
  • Provide administrative support, including the preparation of agendas, minutes and other materials as needed or requested
  • Produce and manage content for the Chamber website
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Chamber in the community.
  • Encourage membership participation in Chamber events
  • Additional Duties as assigned
 
Qualifications / Skills:
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects occurring simultaneously and successfully
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, creative writing skills, and listening skills 
  • Capable of maintaining sensitive or confidential information 
  • Professional conduct with staff members, business members, sponsors, board members, volunteers, and the public with the ability to establish effective working relationships 
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
  • Ability to work within a team structure
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • This position requires occasional after hours and weekend work 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, design programs and ability to learn database programs
  • Able to lift and or move up to 60 pounds and to travel to local venues (5-10 miles)
  • Working knowledge of the Greater Newburyport area
 
Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience in sales, marketing, or communications required.
  • Some supervision or management experience is beneficial
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree desired
 
 
Work Environment:
  • Majority of duties will be performed in and from the Chamber’s office during regular business hours. Some travel and work offsite will be required, as well as occasional work on evenings, weekends and/or holidays
