Newburyport Lions Club Welcomes the Community to Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

Returning for its third year at the Senior/Community Center, located at 331 High Street (in front of the Bresnahan Elementary School, the Newburyport Lions Club once again invites seniors, individuals who may be spending the holiday alone this year, and families who want to share a few hours of conversation, a warm meal and goodwill to join us in a traditional holiday setting. 
 
The Newburyport Lions Club Thanksgiving Day Dinner is made possible through collaborative efforts of many businesses, groups, and volunteers from throughout the community. Anna Jaques Hospital and its amazing staff is instrumental in ensuring the success of our annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

All turkeys served are cooked by Anna Jacques Hospital, the “carving crew” from Inn Street Barber Shop will be returning again this year to assist with carving and preparing all the turkeys. Members of the Newburyport Rotary Club, The Newburyport Exchange Club, employees from Market Basket, and many familiar faces of volunteers from Our Neighbors’ Table, Yankee Homecoming, the Community, and so many, many more will be onsite with us this Thanksgiving Day. 

 
Meals scheduled for delivery to homes in the community are packed in thermal isolated bags provided by The Institution for Savings. Many thanks to The Institution for Savings for its continued support of The Newburyport Lions Club efforts throughout the year and helping to keep meals warm for delivery.
 
If you are interested in volunteering, we greatly welcome individuals, families and groups; please contact Donald Jarvis at (978) 308 – 9186. 
 
​This is a one seating meal with meals being served at 12:30 pm.

The menu for the dinner will consist of:
  • Turkey,
  • Mashed Potatoes,
  • Peas with Pearl Onions,
  • Stuffing,
  • Cranberry Sauce,
  • Rolls with Butter,
  • Assorted Desserts
The Newburyport Garden Club is donating all Thanksgiving Centerpieces for the dinner tables at the Senior/Community Center. 
 
There will be a bus available for transportation to and from the dinner for those that need a ride. 

Starting at 11:00 am, stops along the bus route include:
  • Woodman Way,
  • Park Circle,
  • Horton Terrace,
  • North Atkinson St,
  • Sullivan Building,
  • James Steam Mill,
  • Salvation Army,
  • the Heritage House.
We ask those interested in a ride to wait outside, or in the main lobby for the bus to arrive.  
 
​Newburyport Lions Club Thanksgiving Dinner is always in need of and welcomes desserts, apple pies, pumpkin, blueberry, mince pies, cookies and brownies. If you would like to donate desserts, please feel free to drop them off the day before or the day of the event at the Newburyport Senior Center. If you have a question, please call Donald Jarvis at (978) 308 – 9186.
