Event Description:

Internationally recognized Franco-Russian pianist Roustem Saïtkoulov performs in Newburyport four days after performing at Carnegie Hall with violinist Maxim Vengerov. This is Saïtkoulov's second appearance in Massachusetts, after a standing room only concert at Boston's French Cultural Center a year ago. The program, The Lure of Paris, features two Eastern European composers, the Polish Chopin and the Russian Stravinsky, who spent much of their creative life in Paris, as well as French composer Debussy, born near Paris.
 
Roustem Saïtkoulov began his training at the Kazan Conservatory at age 6, earned his Soloist's Diploma from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and his Master's from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. He has won prizes in numerous international competitions, and he has appeared with leading orchestras such as London's Royal Philharmonic, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic, Prague Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Tokyo New City Orchestra, Beijing Symphony, and others. In addition to solo recitals in the great concert halls of five continents.
