GREENBELT’S 29th ANNUAL ART IN THE BARN
Artisan Showcase and Sale June 8-10 benefits Greenbelt land conservation efforts

Essex, MA, May 21, 2018:   On June 8-10, Greenbelt’s Cox Reservation will come alive with music, sculpture, fine art, handcrafted jewelry, ceramics and pottery at 82 Eastern Avenue in Essex. From the farmhouse to the rustic barns, rolling grasslands and walkways overlooking the Essex River, art will transform the grounds as the annual Art in the Barn exhibition and sale returns for its 29th year. Admission is free. Proceeds from the event support Greenbelt’s land conservation mission.

The 150 participating artists include over a dozen first-time artists such as painter Julia S. Powell of Cambridge; jeweler Jade Gedeon of Essex; sculptor Joe Carpineto of Waltham; and painter Alyssa Watters of Beverly. We’re excited to welcome back many returning favorites such as renowned local sculptor Chris Williams; potters Cynthia Curtis and Marty Morgan; painters Julia Purinton, Donna Baldassari, and Mary Pollack; photographer Dorothy Monnelly; and jewelers Donald MacLachlan and Beth Williams.

The wildly popular opening reception from 5 - 8:30 pm on Friday, June 8 will feature the music of E.J. Ouellette & his band Crazy Maggy, with refreshments available for purchase from the famous Ipswich Ale Tapmobile, Mill River Winery and Lexie’s Burger Bus.

Exhibition and sale hours are 10:00 a.m to 3 p.m. and 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 8, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10. More information can be found on the Greenbelt website, www.ecga.org
