AUDITION NOTICE:
AVENUE Q

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: 
Must be 18 or over to audition. Please prepare 16 bars of an upbeat song, preferably from the show. Actors may be asked to improvise with the puppets. Please bring a headshot and resume. Audition forms will be provided

Synopsis of Play:
This laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a bright-eyed college grad named Princeton. When he arrives in the city with big dreams and a tiny bank account, he has to move into a shabby apartment all the way out on AVENUE Q. Still, the neighbors seem nice. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Lucy (the slut), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the pervert), Superintendent Gary Coleman (yes, that Gary Coleman) and other new friends! Together, they struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Roles:
  • Princeton (20-25, Male) A fresh-faced kid just out of college and the protagonist. Puppet. Vocal range top: G4, vocal range bottom: Bb2
  • Kate Monster (25 - 30, Female) A Kindergarten teaching assistant, who is a bit older than Princeton. Puppet. Vocal range top: F5, vocal range bottom: F#3
  • Nicky (20-30, Male) A slacker who lives with Rod. Puppet. Vocal range top: B4, vocal range bottom: B2
  • Rod (25-30, Male) An investment banker who is Republican and a closeted homosexual. Puppet. Vocal range top: G4, vocal range bottom: A2
  • Trekkie Monster (30-40, Male) A reclusive creature obsessed with the Internet and all it has to offer. Puppet. Vocal range top: Eb4, vocal range bottom: Bb2
  • Lucy (25 - 30, Female) A vixenish vamp with a dangerous edge. Puppet. Vocal range top: F5, vocal range bottom: F3
  • The Bad Idea Bears (20-40, Female) Two snuggly, cute teddy-bear types. Puppets. Vocal range top: G4, vocal range bottom: Bb3
  • Mrs. T (50-65, Female) Crabby and ancient. Kate's boss. Puppet.
  • Brian (30-45, Male) A laid-back guy married to Christmas Eve. Vocal range top: F#4, vocal range bottom: B2
  • Christmas Eve (30-45, Female) A therapist who recently moved to Avenue Q from Japan. Vocal range top: F#5, vocal range bottom: B3
  • Gary Coleman (30-4, Female)Yes, that Gary Coleman. Lives on the Avenue and is superintendent of the apartment buildings. Vocal range top: Bb5, vocal range bottom: D3
